[jira] Commented: (DERBY-1853) Create a template for Release Notes for inclusion in our release distributions.

Andrew McIntyre commented on DERBY-1853:
----------------------------------------

Personally I would have put the Build Environment information at the end, since I would consider the list of new features and bugs fixed more important. But it's relatively short, so maybe it's ok. Curious to hear what others think. Will the overview section be similar to the ones we had for previous releases?

Pie-in-the-sky idea for a future release would be to have the release notes in XML format, along with the lists of bugs fixed and new features in the XML format from JIRA, then the build machinery could insert the proper values for most of the items in the build environment section, then merge the XML files and crank the whole thing through an XSL stylesheet to get the final HTML page with minimal effort on the release manager's part.

> Create a template for release notes. Each release can customize this template. The build machinery should include the customized release notes in our release distributions.
