[jira] Commented: (COUCHDB-5) Implement COPY and MOVE HTTP methods

    [ https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/COUCHDB-5?page=com.atlassian.jira.plugin.system.issuetabpanels:comment-tabpanel&focusedCommentId=12581213#action_12581213 ]

Brent Calder commented on COUCHDB-5:
------------------------------------

Perhaps implemented with a user modifiable reserved key (no MOVE operation required). 301 seems to be the most important. A query-string option could be set to perform operations on the "moved" document.

> I would like to see a MOVE operation result in a Permanent Redirect being returned
> for the original location until such time as the original location is overwritten
> with a new document.
