[jira] [Commented] (PARQUET-1035) Write Int96 from Arrow Timestamp(ns)

    [ https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/PARQUET-1035?page=com.atlassian.jira.plugin.system.issuetabpanels:comment-tabpanel&focusedCommentId=16056171#comment-16056171 ]

Wes McKinney commented on PARQUET-1035:
---------------------------------------

Sounds good to me. Perhaps we should start an ArrowWriterProperties class where we can put different writer operations -- similar to the API for the general column writer options we have now. This would also help resolve the cast-timestamps-to-ms issue that we have in PyArrow

See ARROW-1076, ARROW-622

> Although considered deprecated, this is still required by various engines. Supporting it will increase compatibility until broad support for other timestamp formats arrives.
