I am using latest POI 3.9 and still facing the LeftoverDataException.

Please guide the solution for the same.

You'll need to tell us what record that's for. It's like saying "I saw a 
fix for a NullPointerException, why do I still see them in other 
projects"!

We'll need to know the record that triggered it, ideally a file that shows 
it, the history of the file (what created it, what edited it etc), then we 
need to work out if it is spec complaint or not, and finally someone needs 
to work up a fix
