[jira] [Commented] (AMBARI-2006) Ability to avoid distributing repo files during installation

Shawn Kern commented on AMBARI-2006:
------------------------------------

In our deployment we were able to work around this issue by adding "reposdir=" to /etc/yum.conf

This will ignore any repo files that are placed in /etc/yum.repos.d and allow the satellite channels to take over.

This has been tested on RedHat Linux 6.4

> Some companies have a robust RHEL management environment and heavily use satellite servers. In those cases, they want to put Ambari packages in satellite which means that during the installation we never need local repo files. Also, some companies want to manage local repo files themselves. It would be great to have an Advanced option to avoid local repo distribution and epel rpm package installation.
