We are having the same issue. A 3 node cluster under load (~150K documents and ~600 updates per second) with auto-compaction setup eventually stops compacting on one of the nodes, filling up the disk to death.

We might need to setup manual compaction while this get fixed, but we would like to avoid going through authentication for this, as we want to do it from the nodes themselves, where this information is not available for us. Is there a way we can bypass the HTTP api auth from the nodes to trigger it?
