It is hard to say if the issue can be resolved at all, please take a look at the workaround I found in [ionic forum](https://forum.ionicframework.com/t/inappbrowser-events-not-fired-with-pdf-urls/152256). I have used a similar approach with filtering on the `beforeload` event.
