April 2015 Podling Report

Folks,

This is the podling report I’d like to submit for OpenAz, please send me feedback asap. I need to submit this very quickly, we are behind on this. I’m still waiting for write access to the wiki but expect to have that sometime today.

Thanks,

Pam

Ok - I did find that yesterday but there is no OpenAz project. Do I go
ahead and try to create it? If so, I¹m assuming it should be:

incubator-openaz

The real SVN repository is https://svn.apache.org/repos/asf/

Ok, I guess I’m still trying to figure out the URL location and login
parameters for the repository.

I see only SVN is available (https://svn.apache.org/), is there a Git
repository we could use?

When I login to that repository, its pretty much empty.

I believe just being listed as an incubator committer is correct, as OpenAZ
would only appear if it were a top level project at Apache. Anyway, once we
get the code at Apache we can resolve any commit issues that arise.

If I look at this list of committers:

http://people.apache.org/committer-index.html

I’m not listed for OpenAz yet, just as an incubator committer. Perhaps I
don’t need to be in order to commit code for openAz.

I¹d like to get it done in the next few days, but I need Ajith to make it
available. He is the one that did the merge of the source code. I also
need to get on list as a committer for OpenAz, it doesn¹t look like that
happened yet. Any help with that?

Looks fine to me. Do we have an ETA on when the source code will be
delivered to Apache?

For some reason my attachment did not go through:

OpenAz

OpenAz is a project to create tools and libraries to enable the

development of Attribute-based Access Control (ABAC) Systems in a

variety of languages. In general the work is at least consistent with

or actually conforming to the OASIS XACML Standard.

OpenAZ has been incubating since 01-2015

Three most important issues to address in the move towards graduation:

1. Get ICLA’s from all the committers. So far AT&T and JP Morgan have done, but Oracle is taking more time.

2. Merging the source code from AT&T, JP Morgan and Oracle and creating POM’s. AT&T and JP Morgan source code has been merged and POM’s created, it needs uploading into the Apache repository.

3. Get our first release done.

Any issues that the Incubator PMC (IPMC) or ASF Board wish/need to be

aware of?

  None. Just getting started.

How has the community developed since the last report?

First report. Now we have mailing lists and discussions have started on

dev@. Moving all communications onto the new mailing lists.

How has the project developed since the last report?

First report. Will be committing initial codebase soon.

Date of last release:

No releases yet. Still at 0.0.1 in the source.

When were the last committers or PMC members elected?

Still working on getting ICLAs for initial committers. Then we will vote in

new committers from the existing developer community.

Folks,

This is the podling report I’d like to submit for OpenAz, please send me feedback asap. I need to submit this very quickly, we are behind on this. I’m still waiting for write access to the wiki but expect to have that sometime today.
