[heads up] Fix for hanging debezium connector

Hello,

I've encountered situation that results in a hanging debezium connector.
The rootcause is that the debezium task can throw unchecked exception and
that situation is not handled.

I'd appreciate reviews and feedback.

This should be mergeable down to 2.8.
2.7 code is quite different but it is possible to reimplement the fix there
as well.
