Indenting

I'm trying to get Xalan 2.0 to indent my output by following the
instructions described in output_xml.properties.  My xsl:output
element looks like this:
 
<xsl:output method="xml" indent="yes" xalan:indent-amount="3"/>
 
Xalan doesn't complain, but it doesn't indent the output either.  Any
suggestions?
