[users@httpd] handle to responses

Hi,
    I have tomcat 4 integrated with apache 2. Using this I can forward
all my servlet requests to tomcat.

Now, I want to process the response sent by tomcat using some perl
script in apache and want to add some more information to the
response.

Now my question is: Is it possible for apache to get an handle to the
response sent by the tomcat?

I would really appreciate if you could give me some pointers to how-to
do it or some links where this is discussed.
