[jira] Commented: (INFRA-2533) Remove 'Reply-To' from hbase-issues emissions

    [ https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/INFRA-2533?page=com.atlassian.jira.plugin.system.issuetabpanels:comment-tabpanel&focusedCommentId=12848937#action_12848937 ]

Brett Porter commented on INFRA-2533:
-------------------------------------

have you tried sending a reply to jira@apache.org on an issue and see that it does what you want? I'm not sure if that feature is enabled on the ASF JIRA or not.

Another alternative is to set the reply-to to dev@ so that discussion continues in the right forum.

> Over in hbase, we have a mailing list named hbase-issues@hadoop.apache.org. Changes to JIRA issues are sent out on this mailing list. We want to be able to comment on issues by replying to mail from hbase-issues. Currently, the JIRA missives have a 'Reply-To' of hbase-issues. We are of the opinion that if the 'Reply-To' was removed, replies would go to jira@apache.org. Mail to list would then end up as comments in hbase issues -- so we think. Perhaps you know better?
> I asked Owen O'Malley, the admin for hadoop, the parent project if he knew how to do this but he didn't.
> Thanks.
