Here is an overview of the issue:
---------------------------------------------------------------------
        Key: MAVEN-987
Summary: Patches to fix rc1 xml parse crash and improve JB9 support
       Type: Bug

     Status: Closed
   Priority: Major
 Resolution: FIXED

 Time Spent: Unknown
  Remaining: Unknown

    Project: maven
 Components:
             plugin-jbuilder
   Fix Fors:
             1.0-rc2
   Versions:
             1.0-rc1

   Assignee:
   Reporter: David Zeleznik

    Created: Thu, 30 Oct 2003 12:53 PM
    Updated: Sun, 9 Nov 2003 5:53 PM

Description:
JBuilder plugin 1.3 crashes in rc1 because of a change that the jelly:xml parse tag now requires a File object- a simple filename is no longer resolved properly.

Also, JBuilder9 now formats the JDK version as "java version XXXX", instead of simply "java XXXX". The supplied patch now uses the JDK specified in the default project as the default for new projects, instead of using the current jvm version that Maven is running on.
