[jira] [Commented] (TOREE-341) Toree scala kernel doesn't handle
exceptions correctly
[ https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/TOREE-341?page=com.atlassian.jira.plugin.system.issuetabpanels:comment-tabpanel&focusedCommentId=15508492#comment-15508492 ]
Marius Van Niekerk commented on TOREE-341:
------------------------------------------
So part of this is caused by https://issues.scala-lang.org/browse/SI-8935 which is a bug in scala 2.11.
Basically once an interpreter bind has been set you can't retrieve it when using -Yrepl-class-based (which spark requires).
We can still do some things with the output string, but its not as great.

> Currently in master (2016-09-20) toree will swallow exceptions instead of doing the right thing and returning them to the notebook.
