Servicemix @ Websphere
Hallo,
is there anywhere a description how to deploy servicemix-web-console of
latest servicemix on websphere application server 6.1?
First i tried to deploy the complete war (which is available to download on
this site), but it didnt work. Then
i tried to publish the web-console from source code over RAD. On this way i
get errors from RMIConnector.
I read at some posts that some people use servicemix embedded in websphere
but nowhere i've found a description how to deploy it :-/

Sören,
Thanks for helping out on this one! The proposed fix has been added to
the codebase (cfr. https://issues.apache.org/activemq/browse/SM-1357).

It seems that WAS for some reason did not process EL by default for the
servicemix WAR (even though the servicemix web.xml correctly refrences
Servlet API Version 2.4 ..). After explicitly turning on EL processing in
web.xml (web-app/jsp-config/jsp-property-group/el-ignored: false) the
servicemix console is now working for me in WAS 6.1.0.9.

Hi Gert,
one information at last: I installed WAS without fixpacks, that meens my
server version is 6.1.0.0. I'll try to install all fixpacks. Maybe it is a
problem from WAS. After installing fixpacks, i'll inform you, if the problem
is solved or not.
Thanks for helping ...

Andrea,
Let me try to set up a VM with WAS 6.1 over the weekend so I can look
into it myself. Just had a chat with Guillaume and we guess that SMX
itself has actually started correctly but that the only remaining
problem is the web console, where WAS doesn't seem to support the EL we
use in our JSP files. It'll just take a little longer to solve because
I don't have a running WAS at hand here...

I think this 2 warnings are concerned with the problem. I get them, when i

I hope you can read the logs, because some messages are german because i
installed a german instance of WAS.

Andrea,
WAS somehow doesn't evaluate the JSP EL in the pages. I know it was in
a fixpack for WAS 6, but since you're using WAS 6.1 it should work ok.
I've also checked the web.xml and that has the correct schema/version in
there as well. Could you check the WAS log for deployment errors/warnings?

the JSP-values cannot be deployed. My screen and an error message you can

Andrea,
Could you post the error messages you get when deploying the WAR
distribution? That's what you are trying to install, right..? Actually,
I'm not sure the problems with this have ever been resolved but this might
be a good occasion to look into it again...
