Dominik Moritz resolved ARROW-7737.
-----------------------------------
Resolution: Won't Do
I don't think sorting is something we should be adding to the library itself so we can focus on the rest of the functionality.

> I started using apache arrow for a project and it appears to be working really well. One of the things that I'm missing though in order to fully use it is sorting. Lets say I just want to latest 100 items based on the timestamp or something. I don't think there is a way to do this yet?
