This plugin addresses the problem of representing a documents with many parts.  These are things like books, journals, collections of stuff that should really be considered as a whole.  The files in the [https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/SOLR-380 issue] contains two significant parts:
 1. A Tokenizer for xml content
 2. A SearchComponent which gives you xpath information for tokens matched by a given search.
