IIRC, we've had a few data corruption fixes go into 1.4.x since we
released 1.4.4 at the beginning of June (almost 6 months ago!). I would
like to propose a review of STATUS and a release of 1.4.6 by the end of
next week.
Last time we discussed the subject (see
http://svn.haxx.se/dev/archive-2007-10/0146.shtml), people wanted to
wait until 1.5 branched. That has been longer in coming than
anticipated, and I think we owe it to our users to get these fixes out
the door. Plus, prepping 1.4.6 would get people's test environments in
shape for 1.5.0-rc1 :)
Would a target date of Nov. 30 be unreasonable?

if you are going to release 1.4.6 will you include neon 0.27.x support?

I'm going to take the liberty of rolling the 1.4.6 tarballs. I'll try
to have them posted for review and testing this evening. (Whereupon
people may proceed to point out mistakes in my distribution environment,
dependency versions, etc.)

Well, it looks like folks have had some time to go through STATUS, and
it's pretty clean now. Ready to roll 1.4.6?

Sounds good. A couple of us have made passes through STATUS over the
past couple of weeks, and it looks like things are starting to
stabilize. (More votes are always, welcomed, of course.)
CHANGES on trunk is up to date with everything that has been merged to
1.4.x.

So, my releasing environment still works. I've looked through STATUS
quickly, but most of it sounds like gibberish for now, I've been away
for too long. I'll take another look tonight and see if I can add some
+1s here and there.
If we want a 1.4.6 release, I invite others to take a few minutes to
examine changes.

CHANGES should be up to date now, and we're down to only 4 items in
STATUS which are still pending votes. If you haven't already, please
take a few minutes to go over STATUS and cast votes.
I know people may have concerns about doing this release and trying to
get ready to branch 1.5. I think we can still do a 1.4.6 release soon,
and that it will actually help with the release of 1.5.0-rc1 because
folks will already have their test environments/procedures prepared.
Dave (Anderson), will you be able to RM 1.4.6?
