[users@httpd] Win32 Apache Service won't start

I want to run 2 Apache services concurrently, one for our intranet and
one for our extranet (using ssl). The intranet service works fine and
has for many months.

I installed a second copy of Apache (created directories, configured and
installed service with -k install -n "apacheSSL" -d "path to other dir"
-f "path to other httpd.conf" options) however the second service will
not start. It runs fine from the console and will serve pages as
expected. I have not done any SSL install yet. When I try to start the
service from the console window there are no errors however the
following entry is recorded in the event viewer:

Event Type:	Error
Event Source:	Service Control Manager
Event Category:	None
Event ID:	7024
Date: 23/01/2003
Time: 8:15:45 a.m.
User: N/A
Computer:	WOS2
Description:
The ApacheSSL service terminated with service-specific error 1.

Any idea what I should do next?

Michael.

Posted by Jeff Cohen <ap...@gej-it.com>.
Why installing two different servers and not to use VHosts?
