RFE: RulesDuJour/MyRulesDuJour

Is there any way to have these scripts e-mail the output from a failed
--lint so we know where the error is at?

Yep, some of the newer SARE sets are ready for the limits of 3.0, and the
others will be undergoing checks and repairs. This thread has already
started some talk about making sure all of our rulesets are up to the new
standards. ;)

I see. But maybe the rules should be fixed for 3.x!

Hi Ralf,
The issue may be limitations in 3.0 for the rule names & descriptions.
Under 3.0 the rule names can only go up to 22 characters and the
descriptions can only go up to 50 characters. Some of the custom sets may
break these standards, can you dump the files manually and run another
spamassassin -D --lint and see what that comes up with?

HTH,
matt

I'm not talking about 2.6x, with that version it lints ok.

I'm running a basic 2.6.3 install... Last time, it was because one of
them had a rule name that I had used.. I'll have to look into it later
as I'm having the 2nd Monday this week... Hope it's just 2 this week..

Or better still: Why does linting them fail with SA 3.0.0 from CVS?
