MSSoap together with Apache Soap

i am trying to send some strings between
a Microsoft SOAP Server and an Apache Soap Client.
I found out that sending a string containing 50.000 ">" characters
requires 40 seconds, more or less.
This seams absurd to me.

Any suggestion?
