using Xalan with WebSphere AS 4.x

Hello, all, I am looking for some assistance regarding using
the current versions of Xalan with WAS 4.x. So far I have
been completely unable to make it work.

FWIW, I've tried adding both xerces.jar and xalan.jar to the "command line
parameters" section of the JVM settings tab in the application server
configuration, but it still doesn't work.  I also experimented with putting
those files in d:\websphere\appserver\lib\ext, with no luck.  Putting them
in WEB-INF\lib isn't the ticket either, as far as I can tell...

I have searched Google and these newsgroups until I've exhausted every
lead
I found... and I still can't make it work.. .so any assistance is *greatly*
appreciated.

Thanks,

I can help you with this. Please answer the following questions:
(1) What platform are you running on?
(2) What is the exact subversion of WAS AS 4.x (4.0.3, 4.0.4, ...)?
(3) Do you want to use Xalan from one .ear file or many .ear files?
(4) What is your classloader visibility mode set to?
