Tomcat 5.5 Initial/Maximum memory pool

Hi

I'm running Tomcat 5.5 on Windows XP.

select Start -> Programs -> Apache Tomcat 5.5 -> Monitor with popup
"Apache Tomcat Properties" window,
at the bottom of the window there are "Initial memory pool", "Maximum
memory pool" and "Thread stack size".

These text fields are empty, and so, what are the default values for
these fields?

What are the valid values we should enter into these fields?

Depends on the platform (32-bit vs 64-bit and of course the OS). Run jconsole against your Tomcat instance to find out.

Whatever your applications need. No one can tell you that - you need to measure the heap usage when you put your apps under a stressful load. Again, jconsole can help you monitor that.
