[jira] [Commented] (CB-7685) Geolocation watch on Android continues when app in background

    [ https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/CB-7685?page=com.atlassian.jira.plugin.system.issuetabpanels:comment-tabpanel&focusedCommentId=15140758#comment-15140758 ]

Zeph Davies commented on CB-7685:
---------------------------------

What version of WebView do you use?
I have the opposite problem, and it's causing a headache.
I expect (with the plugin BackgroundMode) for locations to continue in the background.
With the latest WebViews, this does not happen. Instead, the locations timeout.

Can you confirm that this still occurs?

> When using HTML5 geolocation via navigator.geolocation.watchPosition, the GPS continues even when the app is in the background, draining the battery.
> I have tried <preference name="KeepRunning" value="false"/> to no effect. Attempting to catch pause events to attempt to clearWatch did not appear to stop it either.
