------- Additional Comments From rpluem@apache.org 2006-05-30 14:59 -------
Due to the fact that you have turned on ProxyPreserveHost the backend server
does not issue a redirect to http://backendAapacheTwo/dosomething/redirecturl
but is likely to issue a redirect to
http://frontendServer/dosomething/redirecturl, provided that it uses the
contents of the Host header supplied for constructing its redirect URLs (see
http://httpd.apache.org/docs/2.2/en/mod/core.html#usecanonicalname how to
configure this behaviour if the backend server is also an Apache).
With ProxyPreserveHost on the Host header sent to the backend is now
frontendServer and not backendAapacheTwo.

This causes the RedirectPassReverse rule to mismatch. Please replace

ProxyPassReverse / http://backendAapacheTwo/dosomething/

with

ProxyPassReverse / http://frontendServer/dosomething/
