lexical representation of gMonth

Hi,

Can anybody explain why the lexical representation for gMonth was
changed from --MM-- to --MM? The schema spec says it's --MM--. The code
I'm referring to is in org.apache.xerces.impl.dv.xs.MonthDV.java in
Xerces 2.0.2
