I can confirm this bug. It is new in 3.4.0 or 3.4.1? In previous versions it

I can confirm it, can not find a earlier bug number. It is a regression, has
worked correctly in OOo 3.3.

Not only doesn't the search function not work also scrolling in a form is
limited to the first 40 records of the database and not to the end of the
database . One must first select the last record of the database before you can
scroll further.

I think I made a mistake during my tests for Comment 10, the result was
nonsense.
This one is a DUP of "Bug 22831 - Scroll Slider scrolling of large database
tables stops at record 40"

I wonder what tests I did for Comment 10, the problem still seems reproducible
for me with "AOO 4.1.0-Dev – English UI / German locale -
[AOO410m1(Build:9750) - Rev. 1521488 - 2013-09-11]" on German WIN7 Home
Premium (64bit)", own separate user profile.
That's not unexpected because "Bug 22831 - Scroll Slider scrolling of large
database tables stops at record 40" still is unfixed for Rev. 1521488. I will
check again.

I forgot: I use OOo 3.4.1 on Mac OS X 10.8.2 and Win XP. On both plattforms I

The row cursor does not scroll forward with the search. When you scroll to the
last record and then back to the first everything works as expected.

I am using Win 7 and have just upgraded to A OOo Version 3.4.1.
I am connecting to an Access Data base using the Access Connection type.
No problems with connection, updating or editing the data base.
I went to use the record search option; I selected text, entered text, next
option I selected all fields.
When I clicked on the search button, I instantly get an error No Records
Corresponding to your data found.
I tried every combination of options and discovered, if I select the search
backwards option, the search worked normal.
After searching backwards at least once, then unchecking the search backwards
option, I could then search forward with no problems.
If I closed out the data base, then I would have to select the search backwards
again to get the search to work correctly.
I tired the search record option from a form and from a table with the same
results.

I can confirm bug under Win XP ( different machines )
First have to select Last Record in Base Form , then search OK else only first
40 records are seached.
Pointer must be set to last record in the database and not to last record
loaded into memory.

Not sure what comment 2 is trying to say, but I assume you have duplicated the
bug.
I have verified that if I go to forms view and open the form.
Then go to the find record and select the last record button (>|), then select
the back to begining button (|<) then do the search the record search works
normal.
Also, the same with selecting search backwards. This works all the time.
Years ago, this same bug was in OOo, and it had someting to do with the search
pointers not being initalized or reset back to first record.
