   The failures on Almalinux-8 and Amazon Linux 2023 are related. I think we've solved the same issue in the past with something like:
   ```
     if(CMAKE_VERSION VERSION_LESS 3.28)
       set_property(DIRECTORY ${xsimd_SOURCE_DIR} PROPERTY EXCLUDE_FROM_ALL TRUE)
     endif()
   ```
