How can I create a custom Jmeter graph results over ssh
Hey everyone,
I hope you're having a good day.
Now I briefly explain the problematic.
I have a program running on linux and this program has option to use
libheap library which is actually replaces memory allocation functions by
its own to be able to track how much memory consumed by each operation.
When I send signal to that program, it outputs memory report into a small
file not structured by any format so I cannot process this file in a
standard way.
One signal - one file at the moment.
I wrote a program on ruby which process those files and outputs information
in CSV format.
What I want is to somehow get all information over ssh through Jmeter and
instantly show graph results inside of Jmeter in realtime.
How can I create such controller to be able to get information by ssh and
visualise it ? Or maybe I can connect jmeter agent to it somehow ?
Is there any simple way to do this ?
Thank you.

Hello,
Better have a look at this:

Although JMeter does have some graphing features, that is not its
primary function.

I think you should be looking at a dedicated graphing solution.

Or if you really want to do it using JMeter, fetch the data directly
from the Linux system.
The sampler would need to connect to the Linux host and connect to an
app that returns the processed data.
You could probably enhance the Ruby app to issue the signal as well as
process the output.
Further, the Ruby app could act as a server (HTTP or perhaps UDP) to
which the JMeter sampler can talk.
If the Ruby app acted as an HTTP server, you could use the existing
HTTP Sampler to fetch the data.
Vanilla JMeter does not currently support UDP, but a web search shows
that there are 3rd party addons.

A (very) pragmatic approach:
relay the resultfile to a machine of your choice (in real time) using
netcat and ssh.
Work on the resultfile on the machine of your choice using tools of
your choice - jmeter, dedicated solutions, whatever. The ideas is to
stream using netcat/ssh instead of polling using ssh in isolation.
Have fun,

Hi,
Give a try on jmeter-plugin. There you have so many graph options.
Graphs
- PerfMon Metrics Collector

Agent <http://jmeter-plugins.org/wiki/PerfMonAgent>
- Active Threads Over Time
<http://jmeter-plugins.org/wiki/ActiveThreadsOverTime>
- Response Times Over Time

- Transactions per Second

- Server Hits per Seconds <http://jmeter-plugins.org/wiki/HitsPerSecond>
- Composite Timeline Graph
