[VOTE] remove the oscom publication

after discussing whether to remove the (currently hidden) oscom
publication numerous times (see mailing list archives), here now the vote.

do you want to remove the oscom publication from lenya-1.2 and trunk?

+1 from me.

http://lenya.apache.org/docs/1_2_x/components/accesscontrol/policymanagers.html#Sitemap+Policy+Manager

I think that is quite useful ...
Maybe I could add an example.

as i said, i didn't find any obvious ones, so the removal will be just
the oscom pub directory.

+3, no -1 (and one non-binding +1)

I didn't mean OSCOM's classes, but classes or other components within
the Lenya core which are being used by OSCOM and third party
publications but not by the default or blog publication

what's the current status of the vote?

that would be most easiest, but I would rather like to offer it from the
OSCOM matrix page, whereas I first have to ask the other OSCOM members.

i took a look, and the oscom publication has only 1 java class (creator).

i didn't find any java classes outside of the oscom publication that
that were candidates for removal. eventually, we will have to overhaul
the creators, but that is another discussion.

i think the oscom publication can now be removed from SVN.

Michael Wechner wrote:

that can be done as part of the commit message, and will thus be part of
the 1.2.2 release notes.

do you want to offer it from wyona.org? i can add a note to that effect
to the commit message.

i will carefully review the java classes that are being exposed, and
post a summary.

you might want to add a note and a link to the future home of the OSCOM
publication as well. Btw, I am sure there is more within the OSCOM
publication which is being used by "third party" publications. I don't
want to start this discussion again about the purpose of different
publications, but I think it's important, that we are all aware of it.

+1

But we have to be careful not to remove any components which were
"only used by the OSCOM publication". For instance, I use the
SitemapPolicyManager in a customer publication, and it serves its
purpose very well.
