Authentication

Hi All,

We need to be able to password protect access to certain applets. We
curently are using the auth_ldap module for apache for all of our other
resources.

To make things a little more interesting, the servlet also needs to
know who it is that has logged in. What we've done is put a <Location>
</Location> entry into access.conf, and sure enough access to the
servlet is now password protected. The problem is that getRemoteUser
returns null.

What is it that we have to do to make use of the authentication
services that apache provides, but also get access to the remote user
id?

Apologies up front if this is a silly question...

peace
Chris
