[RELEASE] Bug 118424 - Postscript Type 1 fonts no longer available

Hi,

From my point of view issue 118424 -
https://issues.apache.org/ooo/show_bug.cgi?id=118424 - is not a blocker for AOO
3.4, because this issue already occurs in former versions of OpenOffice.org, at
least in OOo 3.3.

Thus,
-1 (no 3.4 release blocker)

Best regards, Oliver.

From me also a -1 for it being a release blocker.

For many years Type 1 fonts have been obsoleted, e.g.
http://blogs.adobe.com/typblography/2005/10/phasing_out_typ.html

Newer OSX releases have known problems with them e.g.
http://www.expertreviews.co.uk/software/268417/snow-leopard-poses-serious-font-problems-for-quarkxpress

With free tools such as http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/FontForge
converting them losslesslyy to the OpenType format, there is not much
reason to invest much energy into that orphaned type format.
