Custom themes and templates

Hello,

I would like to add a monthly archive section in my blog, just ad Dave has done in his blog:

http://rollerweblogger.org/roller/page/archives

So I created a template named Archive in my blog (through the front page) and I call the link to it, simply 'archive'. Basically, the content of the template is the calendar macro. But the big problem is that I don't know how to access to the archive template that I have created..

Any suggestion?

Thanks,

rocsca

Oh great!

Thanks Matthias. I have succesfully create my first custom template! Here:

http://www.rocsca.it/roller/blog/page/archive

But I would like to modify the touch of calander so that it works just like the one that is on Dave's blog:

http://rollerweblogger.org/roller/page/archives

Therefore,

1) It has to appear the name of the post close to the day of publishing, on calendar.
2) Clicking on the day or title of the post, it have to open the content of the post (i.e.: <URL>/blog/entry/<post> )

Thanks,

rocsca

Hi,

this is the place to add a new page:
http://www.packtpub.com/sites/default/files/Article-Images/apache4-article1-image02.png

And here you define the values:
http://www.packtpub.com/sites/default/files/Article-Images/apache4-article1-image04.png

Name: index (does not matter what you choose)
Link: index.html (to be appended to my blog URL/page/...)
Description: poem of the day
Content: The HTML for the page. I started with a copy of the weblog template to keep headers and sidebars the same. Instead of the blog articles I have a few Roller macros.

cheers,
-Matthias

Thanks,

so how do you have filled the fields that defines your template?

Name: ?
Link: ?
Description: ?
Include in page menu Y/N?
Hidden: Y/N?

Have you ever write the file 'index.html'? Where do you have stored it on file system?

Hi,
each custom template has a Name and a Link (and a Description and the content). The Link field is used to define the URL of the new special page. Just use this link.
I just chose index.html for mine at http://blogs.sun.com/mprove/page/index.html
