Page Number issue

Hello -

I have read and re-read and re-read again all posts on relevant Open Office forums, all tutorials, and all resources to solve my problem and hit nothing but brick walls.  I am writing a collection of memoirs, preparing my manuscript to submit to Lulu Publishing.  I am presently on the final leg of this journey, tweeking the document - this includes inserting page numbers.  I received help via the forum as to setting page numbers in general but alterations re. removing page numerals from pages such as table of contents and title page and changing from Arabic numerals to Roman numerals to indicate location of Introduction and Preface is causing extreme frustration.  I am usually pretty computer savy but this seems to have totally stumped me.

Is there anyone that would be willing to give one-on-one support - I would be willing to pay for technical help - that’s how desperate I am!  I would even be willing to send my document to someone who could set the pages for me.

I look forward to hearing from you at your earliest convenience.  I have been struggling with this issue for 10 days already and don’t know where else to go.

You need to define a new Page Style (or use an existing style suitable modified) for each area where the page layout, including numbering, changes or differs from the surrounding pages.  Have another look at the tutorials with this in mind and all should become clear.  The page style you use for the preliminary pages should have, on their Page tab, have numbering set to i, ii, iii in the layout settings at bottom right quadrant of that tab.
