Tomcat 4.0.4 and CLASSPATH

Looking at Tomcat 4.0.4 it seems to have its own class loader.

Does this class loader make use of the traditional CLASSPATH environment
variable?

If not, how do I add my own paths into the Tomact 4.0.4 environment??
