Using Kafka/Queue for replacement of RPC, is it anti-pattern? Why?

Hello Kafka Devs!!

I have a strange question!!
 I wanna listen your opinion on replacement of HTTP/gRPC with bi-directional Kafka. With minimal changes to applications.(If possibilitie, hide from application developer by library)
Is it anti pattern? Why?
What are advantages? why?
Anyone ever tried?
