[4.14.1] release branch closed

Hi,

I've synced the release branch and the develop branch, picking up a
few fixes by Mihai that were committed just after the cutting of
'release'.

I feel that we are coming up on the RC. I ask people NOT TO COMMIT TO
THE 'RELEASE' BRANCH anymore, unless I approve first (e.g. fixes for
last minute finds/regressions).

All commits for the SDK now go to 'develop'.

Upwards and onwards to the release!
