Andreas Lehmkühler resolved PDFBOX-4836.

Resolution: Fixed
I guess there is still room for improvement, but the main goal to remove the usage of a ScratchFile when reading a pdf was achieved.
In favour of releasing 3.0.0 I'm closing this ticket, maybe new ones will follow
