[jira] Closed: (TAPESTRY-1892) Allow Output component to use joda formatters

Howard M. Lewis Ship closed TAPESTRY-1892.
------------------------------------------

    Resolution: Won't Fix
      Assignee: Howard M. Lewis Ship

This simply isn't a core feature; Joda stuff is nice, and creating a project to provide a JodaOutput component (or components) is a reasonable goal, but adding yet another dependency to tapestry-core to satisfy a very slim audience is not a high priority activity or a very likely direction.

> For reasons unknown to me, the joda formatters do not extend from java.text.Format. This creates a problem when using joda with the Output component.
> This obviously can be taken care of via a separate component, but given the popularity of the joda library, it would be nice to see this support right in the Output component.
