ambari 2.7.1 ui problems
Hi,
I built the ambari for ubuntu 16.04. I fixed the build issues adding some mvn params (-Drat.skip=true -Dcheckstyle.skip) and successfully installed application.
When i try to create new cluster using wisard, it stucks at “select version” and never ends.
When i check the log file i see these two kind of exceptions :
1. Could not load version definition for HDP-2.6 identified by http://s3.amazonaws.com/dev.hortonworks.com/HDP/sles12/2.x/BUILDS/2.6.0.2-81/HDP-2.6.0.2-81.xml. http://s3.amazonaws.com/dev.hortonworks.com/HDP/sles12/2.x/BUILDS/2.6.0.2-81/HDP-2.6.0.2-81.xml
2. Credential provider creation failed
org.apache.ambari.server.AmbariException: Master key initialization failed.
How can i check what is going wrong ?

Yes, as I know there is no way to integrate ambari with an existing cluster. You have to rebuild it using ambari.

Hello Serkan,
The versions you see are not Hadoop’s versions but are Hortonworks’ stack versions. For example, HDP 2.6 includes Hadoop 2.7.1

Hi Davide,
After executing enable command now i passed to the Select Version step, altought i still have the exceptions in log file.
Thank you so much.
When i check the stack definitions there are older versions of HDP in the folder and the webUI. (HDP 2.6.5.0 and older)
If this is the version of hadoop then i need 2.8.0, 2.9.0 and 3.0.0.
Where can i get version definition to install new versions via UI ?

you must enable the stack before starting the ambari server
ambari-server enable-stack --version=STACK_VERSION --stack=STACK_NAME
example
ambari-server enable-stack --version=3.0 --stack=HDP
you also must have the correct stack definition inside /var/lib/ambari-server/resources/stacks/<STACK_NAME>/<STACK_VERSION>

When i try to create new cluster using wisard, it stucks at “select version” and never ends.
When i check the log file i see these two kind of exceptions :
1. Could not load version definition for HDP-2.6 identified by http://s3.amazonaws.com/dev.hortonworks.com/HDP/sles12/2.x/BUILDS/2.6.0.2-81/HDP-2.6.0.2-81.xml. http://s3.amazonaws.com/dev.hortonworks.com/HDP/sles12/2.x/BUILDS/2.6.0.2-81/HDP-2.6.0.2-81.xml
2. Credential provider creation failed
org.apache.ambari.server.AmbariException: Master key initialization failed.
How can i check what is going wrong ?

Hi Davide,
After executing enable command now i passed to the Select Version step, altought i still have the exceptions in log file.
Thank you so much.
When i check the stack definitions there are older versions of HDP in the folder and the webUI. (HDP 2.6.5.0 and older)
If this is the version of hadoop then i need 2.8.0, 2.9.0 and 3.0.0.
Where can i get version definition to install new versions via UI ?

you must enable the stack before starting the ambari server
ambari-server enable-stack --version=STACK_VERSION --stack=STACK_NAME
example
ambari-server enable-stack --version=3.0 --stack=HDP
you also must have the correct stack definition inside /var/lib/ambari-server/resources/stacks/<STACK_NAME>/<STACK_VERSION>

I built the ambari for ubuntu 16.04. I fixed the build issues adding some mvn params (-Drat.skip=true -Dcheckstyle.skip) and successfully installed application.
