i18nTransformer - search in all configured catalogues for a translation

Hi,

regarding to the docs and the source of the i18n-Transformer it seems
as it is not possible to tell the transformer to search in all
configured catalogues for a translation of the key.
Are there any arguments against adding this as a confiugrable feature
or are there any other easy ways to achieve this
(I don't like to use the i18n:catalogue-attribute)?
