[Bug 53708] New: HTTP Authorization Manager ignores HTTP Request Defaults

https://issues.apache.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=53708

          Priority: P2
            Bug ID: 53708
          Assignee: issues@jmeter.apache.org
Summary: HTTP Authorization Manager ignores HTTP Request
                    Defaults
          Severity: normal
    Classification: Unclassified
          Reporter: esmond.pitt@bigpond.com
          Hardware: PC
            Status: NEW
           Version: 2.7
         Component: HTTP
           Product: JMeter

The protocol, host, and port parameters set up by HTTP Defaults are ignored by
the HTTP Authorization Manager. This means that you have to specify them all
over again, or more probably define them all in a User Variables and have both
HTTP Defaults and HTTP Authorization refer to them via variables. This seems a
little Byzantine. I expected to be able to specify host-relative URLs in the
HTTP Authorization Manager but they don't work.

Note that this can be fixed without breaking existing test plans: if there is a
protocol/host/port, use the entire URL, otherwise apply the defaults as
required.

--- Comment #1 from Philippe Mouawad <p....@ubik-ingenierie.com> ---
Base URL in Authorization Manager can be different from what will be specified
in HTTP Request Defaults. It will usually be longer .
In my opinion this enhancement would confuse more than help and using User
Defined Variables for this seems enough.
