i have used open office with 2 calc documents for about 4 years now, but both
calc documents are showing
xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx and all my work is gone
when i try to open the documents it will have me to pick some new settings as
in the attach pic in danish it is ASCII settings, but it dosent matter wich
setting i aply it only shows xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx but sometimes it
look like it is a document for words and not a calc document

We are investigating similar cases.
Can you describe what have you done the last time before this happened?
Where there some power issues or did you switch to powersave mode?
We currently suspect that it triggers in such circumstances.
Please note we do not blame you, but we are not able to reconstruct so it is
difficult to find a propped fix.
The forum has some recovery attempts written up, however, sadly the best chance
is if you have a recovery somewhere.
