Introducing myself — student volunteer interested in testing and development
Hello Apache OpenOffice recruitment volunteers,
I am following the official contributor orientation, which recommends
introducing myself to this mailing list before starting. I would like
to help with bug reproduction, automated testing, documentation, or a
small reviewed programming task, and learn Apache's contribution
workflow. Could you recommend where a new volunteer with Java backend
and Git experience should begin, preferably through written
mailing-list communication?
About me: I am a sixth-semester Computer Science student in Brasília,
Brazil. I develop Java 21/Spring Boot REST APIs using PostgreSQL,
automated tests (JUnit/Mockito), Git/GitHub Actions and Docker, and
take part in an academic software team. I am looking for small, real
engineering contributions with code review, with a flexible initial
commitment of a few hours per week. Written/asynchronous communication
works well for me in English; my spoken English is still developing.
No paid service, job offer, or fixed weekly commitment is assumed.
