Re: Changed information for PR other/21
I am not thrilled with the interface -- it is hard to read and sends
far too much garbage to the bug reporter, and doesn't allow me to
fix things like users reporting normal feature questions as "Critical".
I'd love to work on it a bit, maybe replace it with the PTS stuff and
other things in my SE bag-o-tricks, but I am already working on
negative time and wouldn't be able to think about it til February.
Nevertheless, it is what we have and some of our users are using it,
so people should get in the habit of checking it regularly.

Echoping form
Posted by Michael Smith <mj...@cursci.co.uk>.
Dear all,
I have written a crappy little form to use the "echoping" program on
http://biomednet.com/~mjs/echoping.cgi
Essentially, this enables tries to tell you how long it takes to
download the home page (or other pages if I implement it) of any web
server from biomednet.com (London, UK).
Any comments let me know - are there any other ways of testing
performance from remote sites?
Mike

DESCRIPTION
echoping is a small program to test (approximatively) per-
formances of a remote Internet host by sending it TCP
"echo" packets. It can use other protocols as well (HTTP,
UDP "echo", etc).

None of those things seem to be the fault of gnats itself, just our
interface.
