DO NOT REPLY [Bug 45448] New: When UseCanonicalName off, should not get error about ServerName in error.log

https://issues.apache.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=45448

Summary: When UseCanonicalName off, should not get error about
                    ServerName in error.log
           Product: Apache httpd-2
           Version: 2.2.9
          Platform: PC
        OS/Version: Windows Server 2003
            Status: NEW
          Severity: normal
          Priority: P2
         Component: Core
        AssignedTo: bugs@httpd.apache.org
        ReportedBy: bugs@mdarwin.ca

If have set
    UseCanonicalName off
And not set a ServerName,

I get the following error in the windows log

Could not reliably determine the server's fully qualified domain name,
using
    1.2.3.4 for ServerName.

Since ServerName is unused, there is no reason to log this error.

ServerName is not unreferenced with UseCanonicalName off:

With UseCanonicalName Off Apache will form self-referential URLs using the
hostname and port supplied by the client if any are supplied (otherwise it will
use the canonical name, as defined above).
