XPath query on ONE document

Hi,

Is there a way with Xindice to execute a XPath query
against only one document instead of the whole
collection ? 

The only solution I found was to add the document id
inside the document and execute a query on the element
I really cared about like :

/db/root/id[.=12]/../customer/name 

But that's not so clean.
