[jira] [Commented] (PIG-2197) the documentation pages use google
search box instead of apache solr

Daniel Dai commented on PIG-2197:
---------------------------------
It is not as straightforward as I thought. Alternative "search-provider" requires a skins setting which is not in the document source tree. Tried to pull it from hadoop:
svn propset svn:externals . -F 1.txt
1.txt:
skins http://svn.apache.org/repos/asf/hadoop/common/site/main/author/src/documentation/skins
And it results a compilation error. Will revisit it later.

> The apache solr search on the main pig page returns better results, the documentation pages also should shift to that.
