[jira] Resolved: (HDFS-1098) Fix Javadoc for DistributedCache usage

     [ https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/HDFS-1098?page=com.atlassian.jira.plugin.system.issuetabpanels:all-tabpanel ]

Amareshwari Sriramadasu resolved HDFS-1098.
-------------------------------------------

    Resolution: Won't Fix

DistributedCache is changed to use new api in branch 0.21 through MAPREDUCE-898. Also, the documentation is updated.
The above TaskRunner code is internal, not the new api. Users are not supposed call getLocalCache().

> The Javadoc for using DistributedCache isn't up-to-date with code:
>  *     JobConf job = new JobConf();
>  *     DistributedCache.addCacheFile(new URI("/myapp/lookup.dat#lookup.dat"),
>  *                                   job);
> This is the new API:
>   public static void addCacheFile(URI uri, Configuration conf) {
> Javadoc should (partially) reflect the actual usage from TaskRunner:
>             p[i] = DistributedCache.getLocalCache(files[i], conf,
>                                                   new Path(baseDir),
>                                                   fileStatus,
>                                                   false, Long.parseLong(
>                                                            fileTimestamps[i]),
>                                                   new Path(workDir.
>                                                         getAbsolutePath()),
>                                                   false);
>           }
>           DistributedCache.setLocalFiles(conf, stringifyPathArray(p));
