Perl 5.10.1 vs 5.8.5

Howdy,

Has anyone done any benchmarking between Perl 5.10.1 and 5.8.5 with  
the latest 3.3.0 release?

What did you find?  I understand that the regex stuffs in 5.10.x are  
improved but do they actually help performance?
